Cheers Phil

I think next time I'm asked, I'll say "Only if I can bring some of my tuttle buddies with me". What I didn't note was that the (fast) wifi stood up well nearly all day and we had plenty of wired ethernet connections too.

Oh and we had a phone on every desk as well, not so useful, but I think if we had had more hacker-oriented types among us, perhaps we could have made something out of that as well.

Nice work on the sxsw vids, not just mine, the whole lot - you and Dave make a great crew.

Thank you Stuart, I agree, it was the pre-existing relationships that I was missing. My idea for other events like this is both to bring in more people who already know each other and to give them time beforehand to practice together given the form of the day.

That is, the briefing day becomes a dry run but works with bloggers in the room who know each others skills and quirks, we expose what is known (and what isn't) about the day itself and open up some creativity about how it might be reported.

Interesting, reflective post Lloyd; thanks for that.

I watched/read some of the G20 voice coverage, and was struck by how little collaboration there was (I quickly tired of bloggers interviewing each other about being there, which doesn't really count).

Some relationship-building on the day would probably help, but to work well it may need pre-existing relationships too. David Wilcox's blog shows some ideas about how it could work (http://socialreporter.com/?p=472) but that might need to be adapted to an environment where not much is 'happening' (although as your piece illustrates, something is always happening, it just might not look like what you expected).

Cheers,
Stuart
