Unspeakably jealous. Of the cool films but mostly of the steenbeck. I learnt to edit on one of those, and sitting here in a big pile next to my desk are my old 16mm cans full of prints and negatives, pleading to be saved from the format junkyard. Just using a steenbeck and watching images made by light shone through tiny stips of celluloid is already like travelling way back in time across the vast exploding continuum of technology. All these web videos will soon be unreadable in just a few years, too, unless we preserve them somehow.
